Welcome to OSG Charter, your safety-focused, comfort-forward, premium charter boat experience out of the state-of-the-art Flamingo Marina (Slip E-12)! From on-water excursions to Tamarindo sport fishing charters, we offer a range of customizable packages, including nearshore and deep-sea fishing (ideal for sailfish & marlin fishing in Costa Rica), private sunset cruises, guided surf excursions, spearfishing, and more.

It all began with owner Laura Mooney, an avid angler and consummate adventurer. After a fortuitous encounter inspired her to break away from the status quo and reexamine her life goals, she purchased Sassy Girl (our premium vessel) and founded OSG Charter as an invitation to live your greatest adventure.

At OSG Charter, we’re passionate about your memorable experience, unparalleled comfort, and on-water safety, and we pride ourselves on professionalism, flexibility, and a deep and abiding respect for the environment. Our knowledgeable, bilingual crew is led by expert U.S.C.G. Licensed Captain, who has 20+ years of local experience.

Welcome to M/V Sassy Girl, our tournament-rigged 40′ Tides Custom Carolina Express, powered by dual 500 hp commercial-rated Lugger power plants and modern Navionics. She is tricked out with premium finishes, all the Costa Rica sportfishing bells and whistles, and amenities that cater to both seasoned anglers and novices alike.

Originating from Virginia’s rugged coastal waters, Sassy Girl is built for challenging waters, with a solid fiberglass hull that guarantees a smooth ride, even on rough days, while the iconic “Carolina” flare adeptly handles wind and spray.

Sassy Girl features an expansive and uncluttered cockpit – an ideal arena for engaging multiple fish, generously accommodating both anglers and crew. Blue Water Chairs take pride of place at her coveted Battle Station, where you’ll find a spacious fish box and livewell.

Ascend to the bridge for ample seating, thoughtfully designed for day-long comfort with ample space, excellent airflow, and refreshing shade. Moving forward, enter the finely appointed, air-conditioned, and cozy cabin, complete with a full restroom.

Meet Our Crew

Captain Lee

Captain

With 20+ years of experience and expertise in our local Costa Rican waters, U.S.C.G. Licensed Captain Lee has worked as captain and mate throughout the western hemisphere – from his home waters in South Carolina to the Bahamas, the Galapagos, and the Caribbean. He is a master at locating the day’s active hotspots and is skilled in an array of techniques, including trolling, bottom fishing, and fly fishing.

William

Mate

With years under his belt as a professional mate, William (who you’ll spot in many of our photos!) is an expert at spotting fish quickly – and in helping you reel one in, as soon as they’ve grabbed your lure. He is a local billfish expert and an excellent mate to have at your side when sailfish or marlin fishing in Costa Rica.

Tommaso

Mate

Step aboard and you’ll quickly discover that Tommaso is passionate about two things: fishing and your safety. He’ll be on hand to help you choose the right lure, reel in a hard fighter, and keep your entire party – even the youngest and newest aboard – safe throughout your adventure.

OSG Charter

Our bilingual, U.S.C.G. Licensed captain and multilingual crew carry not only Costa Rican certification, but also the highest-caliber international qualifications, including STCW certification, Coast Guard licensing, Red Cross CPR certification, and SOLAS training. We comply with and exceed all USCG and Costa Rica Coast Guard requirements and mandates

Our bilingual captain is a native English speaker and has 20+ years of Tamarindo sport fishing experience. Our crew speaks also speaks English and Spanish, assuring crystal-clear communication – always important onboard, and even more so if you’re boating with children or first timers aboard.

We offer top-of-the-line equipment, tournament-grade tackle, and modern navigation electronics (Navionics), to ensure a successful day on the water and a premium experience when sport fishing out of Flamingo Marina. If you’re a fishing tech or safety nerd, like we are, we’re happy to talk details!
